Salam Labs respects everyone’s right to privacy. The main reason this app exists is to provide a private and safe experience, and so Salam App by default does not collect any personal data whatsoever.
Salam App will only request your location data for prayer time calculations. This is an optional feature; however, note that some features may be limited if disabled. Additionally, location data is only used locally (within your device), and no data is sent to Salam Labs. We recommend updating your location if needed to ensure that prayer time calculations are accurate as possible.
While Salam App is designed to offer a secure and confidential user experience, we may collect email addresses under specific circumstances. Your email address will be collected for the optional utilization of the Salam App Cloud backup system and account registration using Google authentication. Additionally, in the future, we may extend our services to include newsletters or informational updates, for which we may use your email address to provide you with relevant communications.

Salam App, as a charity project, has no reason to share any data with third parties. Any optional user data we collect, such as email addresses, will always remain private and will never be shared with third parties.
Although Salam App does not collect any user data directly, we do receive aggregated information from Google and the App Store. This includes data such as the regions where reviews are submitted, the geographical areas where Salam App is being used, and the number of active devices. This data is provided automatically to all app developers by these platforms as a standard practice. Importantly, this information does not include anything that can personally identify you or your identity.
Additionally, Salam App has a feature that displays how many users are currently online. This feature works by receiving pings from all active Salam App clients, counting them in real time, and sending the count back to the app. Your unique device ID is used for this purpose, but it is not saved or stored. No personal information is collected as part of this feature.
Note: The unique device ID is a string of numbers and letters assigned to your device by the operating system (such as Android or iOS). It serves as an identifier that helps differentiate your device from others, but it does not reveal any personal information about you, such as your name, email address, or other identifying details.
Salam Labs has no plans to update or change our policy in any way that would harm the user. If for any reason there is an update to this policy, we will be explicit in what has changed and notify you the user.

We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policies of these websites. We have no control over, nor do we assume responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
